Nutmeg moment

Andy Neill is an awesome talent and a deserving man of the match today (29/12). His goal ensured an important three points for the Wee County. His encounters on the wing are a joy to watch. This player exudes football joie de vivre for each and every ninety minutes he wears the County shirt.

Man of the match says...

Nairn 1 Forres 0 - Footy famine over as Andy Neil gives it a Festive Fizzer

The tea bothy at Station Park was eaten out of pies by before the start of the second half as the visitors added to the massive queue for sustinance. Maybe the sometimes iffy soccer made the tea queue an attractive alternative. After a spectacular start the fixture failed at times to rise to the occasion.
The return to Station Park and Highland League football began at a cracking pace. Andy Neil put a bit of quick  festive fizz into this game with his fourth minute cracker. It wasn't all Nairn's way after that and at times it was fairly flat but we take three points and the big crowd will have put some cash into the kitty too. The County faithful will accept the points however they come and another big challenge looms next week as Nairn travel to Cove. Images later

"Blueprint for Station Park unveiled"

"Nairn County's Scottish Cup heroics and title challenge this season were not the only reasons to be cheerful last week.
Club Chairman Peter MacKintosh revealed Station Park has become the first club in the Highland League to receive Bronze certification for their ground under the Scottish Football Association's new national club licensing regulations.
And he unveiled a blueprint which will see future developments including further upgrading of the existing stand and installation of new modern dugouts as top priorities to be followed by the replacement of the enclosure affectionately known as the "Cowshed". More in this week's Nairnshire Telegraph.

Nairn 3 Inverurie 3

A fast, tough and exciting encounter at Station Park that had reflections of recent mammoth cup ties. Hard to tell what was descending the fastest towards 4.30 this afternoon - the sharp frost or the realisation that it was going to be another 3-3. More pictures  on www.gurnnurn.com
